We’re having weekend extravaganza starting off with a Kinjirushi product sampling and y’all are invited to come!! 💚 Come by and sample some tasty Japanese favorites, including kizami chopped wasabi, freshly grated nama wasabi, and Okinawa Shikuwasa Citrus Juice. Do you know why 8/8 is Takoyaki Day? If you look closely — the 8s look like two little takoyaki balls stacked up! 👀 It’s the official date, and we’re celebrating it right!

This Saturday at our South Lamar location, we will have fried octopus balls prepared fresh in-house, crispy on the outside, chewy and filling on the inside, finished with that perfect sauce & mayo combo. An Osaka classic done right! 😋

In Japan, this special “Day of the Ox” falls during the hottest stretch of summer and has been marked by enjoying unagi since the Edo period. Legend has it the Hiraga Gennai (polymath and rönin) encouraged people to eat “something that starts with ‘u’” (like unagi!) to beat the intense summer heat—so now we feast on unagi to power through the hottest days! 🥵 ☀️ 🇯🇵
