We took a digital sabbatical in October but we’re back with a nicely timed PSA:
▫The Green Cart turns 15 this Fall.
Fifteen
YEARS.
Making
sandwiches.
In Austin.
FUN FACTS:
🟩 The Green Cart has started as a food cart near UT campus, on the Drag. In 2005. An early, early bird in the food cart extravaganza!
🟩 There's only 12 sku's in our grab & go collection. That's right: 15 years, 12 items. We swear by "less is more".
🟩 With pre-pandemic 1K+ sammies a day, roughly, we must've hand-made over 5.5 million perfectly portable, clean & green, delicious lunch and adventure staples.
🟩 We made it through 2005-2020 sans instagram, tiktok, external funding, or facebook ads. 👻 Just our small local team, good food and good service. Some good LUCK too 🤩
Family-owned and operated, we’re grateful for your love, AUSTIN. 🔴 And to all of our former, current & future food service & wholesale friends- we cherish you every day. ♥️
2020 is probably is not exactly the year to celebrate but hey, here we are. 🔹 Stay tuned for anniversary SPECIALS. Now that we finally have an instagram, a newsletter and 🔷 a digital deli (the silver lining of covid :) there are plenty of ways to stay in touch.
PS On Kelly:
🟧 Ellsworth Kelly is our lifetime favorite.
🟦 His minimalist bursts of color inspired the design of our labels.
🟨 We love his limited edition postage stamps so much we used one of them as a backdrop (above) to the logos for some of the brands we’ve served.
🟩 We love that KELLY rhymes with DELI (does it make him our spirit-er.. artist?)
⬛️ He dedicated over 30 years to building his labor of love, Austin chapel, that now sits near the Blanton on UT campus.
🟥 And that, dear Austin, is
