Staging Hills I'd Die On ⚰️

1. Paint does wonders. If the cabinets are tired or dark, paint them! The right neutral makes a room look updated and fresh.

2. Cheap-looking light fixtures undervalue the home. Consider swapping them out pre-staging.

3. Every home needs to be deep cleaned before staging. That means windows too!

4. I treat every home as unique. I don't copy and paste furniture. I select pieces that work with the home.

5. I no longer negotiate pricing. We are a team of specialists, and we deserve to be paid what we are worth.

This home had many mid-century influences, which begged to be styled with warm woods, cognac leather, natural textures, and mid-century lines. Together, this stage achieved a relaxed, collected sophistication.

This home already had the perfect setup for gathering — generous living spaces, an open flow, and plenty of room to come together. Our job was to make those spaces feel warm, inviting, and connected.

A neutral palette doesn’t mean everything has to be matchy-matchy. Mixing chair styles, shapes, and materials adds personality while still making the entire space feel cohesive.

I’m Kim Jones, founder of Clean Slate Home Staging.

I began flipping houses in 2015 while working as a
Registered Nurse and quickly discovered a knack for
staging. Years of noticing the little things that make
people feel comfortable and cared for still guide me
today—only now, the ‘patient’ is the house.

I turned my passion for homes and design into a
business that helps sellers maximize their home’s
value.

Swipe to see three years of growth.

I recently had the opportunity to stage the same home I worked on earlier in my career, and it was a reminder that talent isn't something you're born with—it's something you build.

Over the last three years, I've learned to trust proportion over perfection, restraint over excess, and storytelling over simply decorating a room.

The house didn't change (with the exception of the kitchen cabinets).
My approach did.

And that's one of my favorite parts of being a stager—you're always learning to see a little differently.
