Thanksgiving is about two of the best things in the world - family and food! Here's a seven-layer cake I made for my aunt and my dad. They grew up in Brooklyn and have fond memories of eating a special seven-layer cake from their favorite bakery there. I tried to recapture their nostalgia and got two thumbs up. :)

It's seven layers of a light, moist butter cake with pale chocolate buttercream icing and a rich fudge glaze. Mmmm... just thinking about it makes me hungry for another one.

Starting things off right: chocolate chip cookies! I like mine with a saltier dough so the chocolate really stands out. (I've been doing it that way since long before the salted caramel craze!)
