We were late to the pandemic baking game. But last spring our dear friend brought his sourdough starter, affectionately known as the Brooklyn Queen, to our house while he was in town.
He left a bit of the Queen with us and against all odds we have kept her going this last year and a half or so. With some occasional tech support from Hank, and the amazing resources available at , we have had some good successes.
This boule is made following the No Knead Sourdough recipe at KAF. We have also made a mountain of pizza dough, coffee cake, and other treasures from the discarded starter that is an unavoidable part of the starter maintenance process. So glad to finally be on this journey! There is nothing quite like the smell, taste, and sound (!) of fresh baked sourdough. 👃👅👂
