YALL. It was a joy packing up all the orders with **bandanas** in them over the last week. Brett and I divide and conquer on most things in this business, and one task I’ve found joy in every single week since we started sales is packing orders. Im getting to know many of our repeat customers and get excited when I see a packing slip with a name I recognize, I also wonder what life is like in the places I ship to but have never been, and it makes me smile thinking about a new-to-us customer and imagining how they found us. Once, an investor told me that handwriting a thank you on packing slips doesn’t scale, and while that might be true I DON’T CARE. I’m gonna find a way to make it scale, because last week I surpassed packing my two thousand five hundredth order and I’m ready for the next 2,500+

Anyway, thanks for supporting small business!!! ‘Preciate y’all. And now you can put a face behind the short note on the top of your packing slip ☺️

Tired of boiling water but repulsed by the concept of cold soaking? Just let your stomach do the work for you! We’re stoked to bring you all of our same bangin’ meals, now in chewables form. Eat + rehydrate, all while on the go. 💦

Look, we totally get that not all freeze-dried look appetizing, or even taste good. NOT OURS Y’ALL. Each of them come with a unique garnish, meant to help you customize and round out the meal. And they really do taste as good as they look 😋

Two years. One freeze dryer. Three meals. Nearly 20,000 sold. Zero food background. Zero marketing background.

We’re Sarah & Brett. We make freeze dried food for people who spend their best days outside.

Year two got us sharper: better systems, better numbers, more clarity on where we’re headed.

Year three is already in motion: a new meal, more time on trail in Colorado, and a business we’re building to actually last.

If you’ve eaten a meal, stocked us on a shelf, or been here since the beginning — thank you. Genuinely.

Year 3, let’s go. 🎂

Life as a small business owner is full of a lot of highs and lows. Getting handed champagne when we arrive at the kitchen has unfortunately happened only once though, as a result of filming this reel. 🤣

3 small business lessons from 2025:
- Growth is not a straight line
- Scaling isn’t just “more”
- The business has to feed us creatively, not just financially

Plus, what we’re looking forward to in 2026... including a NEW MEAL? 👀

👋 we’re back from a two week break (what luxury!) for the holidays and stoked as heck to kick off 2026 with y’all!

2025 was one wild ride, but we’re so proud of how far the business has come in the last year. Can’t believe we’re going to celebrate two whole years in business coming up in March!

When we look back on last year, it feels like a year of momentum building. Momentum for us didn’t look like releasing new meals, but rather getting our meals out to more of you, and spending *lots* of time reworking, building systems and trying to set up our business so that it sits sturdier and ready for more growth this coming year. Looking back, we’re glad we focused on making sure our meals slap even as we scale production, we were *shocked* at the power YouTube had to catapult our sales to levels we could not have anticipated at this point last year, and it was a lot harder than we anticipated moving our operations to Denver. In all, so many good lessons that are the foundation for what we hope to achieve this year.

Speaking of this year!!!!! We’ve got a lot of plans. More storytelling about what it’s like running our business, an epic trail magic weekend along the PCT to celebrate this year’s class of hikers, a couple 👀 new meals, and some fun swag releases. It’s gonna be a blast. Thank you for being here, for supporting small and for being fans of great food outdoors! We couldn’t do it without you! 💕
