The John Barleycorn Awards is a respected international spirits competition that recognizes excellence across the spirits industry. Spirits are judged blind by experienced spirits writers and educators, helping reduce brand bias. Products are evaluated on appearance, aroma, taste, and finish using a 100-point scoring system. Unlike some competitions judged primarily by producers or distributors, the tasting panel is made up of respected spirits communicators whose reviews influence consumers and the trade.
