September 11th, has been a day that we have honored and remembered all that lost their lives in the attack on our nations freedom so many years ago…. This year seems to hit home a little different after the senseless murder of a man that simply stood up for what he believed and debated openly, with any who opposed his views. When are people going to open their eyes to the lies, fear mongering, hate, and division that currently has spread through social media and other “news outlets”… Somewhere along the way, this nation has forgotten how united we were when thousands were killed on a sunny morning in September back in 2001… we have been divided so extremely that people think it’s acceptable (even celebrated) for someone to be murdered for different political views. I truly hope that Mr. Kirk’s mission to promote finding the truth, but more importantly setting an example of how to civilly speak to others with opposing views is not lost… May his family who lost a father, husband, son… and everyone else who mourns and honors their loved ones lost in the tragic events of 9/11 find peace and healing. And I pray that this nation wakes up before more senseless lives are lost due to ignorance, hatred, and mental illness.
