UPDATE: Very sorry, everyone, but we will not be able to open for cherry picking this year. We've lost almost all the sweet cherries, and there are very few tarts. As the tart cherries ripen, I may offer appointments to pick those.

But there will be no sweet cherries. We just weren't able to save them.

We are looking into bringing in sweet cherries from northern Michigan to sell. If you are interested in purchasing pre-picked cherries, please call or message and let us know how many pounds you would like. We'll have an idea of price in a few days.

UPDATE: We were hoping to have better news as the season gets closer, but the two killing frosts in May affected most of the crop.

While we normally open around June 21st, we will likely not open for another 1-2 weeks. The early season cherries were completely lost, and we're doing what we can to protect the mid- and late-season cherries now.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we will also have restrictions on picking. These include:

- Appointments must be made in advance to come pick; no walk-ins will be permitted
- Customers should not come to the farm if they are displaying symptoms of COVID-19 or have come in contact with someone who has. Anyone displaying symptoms at the farm will be asked to leave.
- Only 3 people per party are allowed in the tunnels at a time
- Everyone must wash or sanitize their hands before entering the orchard to pick
- Masks are strongly encouraged
- The retail barn will be closed; all check-in and check-out will be done on the porch or outdoors
- Everyone is encouraged to bring their own buckets. Plastic bag liners will be provided.

We'll be setting up an appointment system on our page in the next week. Appointments will not be taken before then.

If you don't mind traveling a bit further for u-pick cherries, here are some other orchards we would recommend:

Happy Spring! We wanted to update you on the crop so far this season. So far, the bloom is looking very, very good!

We'll post updates next month about the crop, when we expect to open for pick-your-own and what steps we're taking to protect everyone during the Covid-19 pandemic.

In the meantime, here's a look at the orchard this week -- heavy bloom, and the bees were working hard on the nice, warm days. So hopefully we'll have a nice crop this year!

Just a few more days! The variety pictured below is Black Pearl, so you can see they need a few more days to ripen and get to the right color. Right now, we are planning to open around Wednesday-Thursday of next week (June 26-27). I'll post a day or two before to confirm hours.

Late May Update: GREAT news!

Despite the lack of bloom this year, my honeybees saved the day -- sort of. The crop is still smaller than the last two years, but it appears the bees pollinated every blossom they could! Here's a look at the Black Pearls, one of my early-season varieties. They still have a way to go to ripen, as you can tell, but they'll get there.

Some varieties aren't as prevalent as these, but we will have some nice picking this summer. Still hoping to open around June 21st - stay tuned for updates!

Happy Spring, everyone! We've had several questions about this year's crop, so I wanted to give you an update.

I wish I had better news, but the bitter cold this winter did affect the cherry buds. We have extensive damage and only about 1/3 of the bloom of previous years. You can see the difference in these photos.

So, while we *will* have a crop this year, it will be a very small one, with some varieties not producing at all. I'll keep everyone updated as we get closer to opening day (usually around June 21st). Our hours will be dependent on whether there are any cherries to pick.

I wish I had better news!
