The farm was started by my dad, Bob Henderson, back in 1991 on land we bought near Avinger, Texas. We began selling berries commercially around 1995. Dad steadily built up the business by selling to friends and through word of mouth. He made many friends and good customers through his blueberries over the years. Dad passed away in December 2007 and care of the farm passed to me his oldest son. My
wife, Kim and I moved to the farm in March of 2020. I retired from my job as a Park Ranger at Lake O' the Pines in December 2021 after 34 years so now I'm able to devote more time to caring for the farm. I try to continue the tradition dad started by selling only the freshest berries at the peak of ripeness. I will not sell a berry I wouldn't eat! All our berries are picked, sorted, and packaged by hand. We don't use any herbicides, pesticides, or chemicals of any kind so the berries are good to eat right off the bush. We have three different varieties, Premier, Brightwell, and Tif blue. Each variety ripens at a different time so we can pick for approximately six weeks. Our blueberries are in season from early June to about mid July. Pre-picked are $4.00/pint container and $8.00/ quart bag. I also sell to a few local businesses who re-sell the berries in their stores. We are usually open Monday through Saturday, 7:00 am till 12:00 pm, but it's best to call us at 903-235-8061 or message to be sure since we're a small operation and life can get in the way at times.
