Fall is in full swing at Pickering Hill Farms! We are now doing our wagon rides, corn maze, and pick your own pumpkins every Saturday & Sunday from 12-5pm, weather permitting.

Our market is open everyday with normal business hours. We have loads of different varieties of pumpkins, gourds, corn stalks, mums (while supplies last), ornamental corn, straw, and more!

Ever wonder how we harvest 30 acres of sweet corn so we can have it picked fresh daily from early July until late October?

We start our season picking right behind our market before moving to our second farm in Grafton where we harvest until the first frost in mid to late October.

If you’ve had our sweet corn this year, we hope you’ve enjoyed it! If you haven’t, you still have time to get some as we will still be picking for another month or so.

This past weekend, we held our annual Pickering Picnic & Olympics 🌟🏅

Every August, we celebrate our employees by hosting our own version of the Olympics with farm themed events. Its always a bittersweet party as many of our employees are heading back off to school. We always miss them when they leave!❣️

Kemar surprised everyone by taking home GOLD in his first Olympics after recovering from losing the corn shucking contest to Mikayla by a fraction of a second. The corn shucking contest had to go to official replay review to determine the winner. Third place had to be determined with a blemished produce shot put playoff between Cole & Mikayla. Needless to say, this year’s competition was a fierce one!

This year’s medalists:
🥇Kemar
🥈Paige
🥉Cole

To us, they are all worthy of GOLD ❤️

Red Haven peaches are in 🍑🍑! Stop in to grab one, two, or a few this weekend. We also have our own white sweet corn, spray-free homegrown red raspberries, and homegrown blackberries.

If you haven’t heard, this year’s northeast Ohio peach crop was devastated by a harsh winter and a late freeze in April. We are fortunate our local orchard was able to source these from a farm in Michigan that was spared from the harsh weather. The season will likely end earlier than normal so don’t miss your chance!

Tomato season is finally upon us! We are now starting to pick our own tomatoes grown right behind the market. We plant our fields to ensure we can harvest tomatoes all the way through October.

Farm Update! 📣📣 This is our favorite time of year as we have all of the fields behind our market planted with our own sweet corn, tomatoes, peppers, kale, basil, Swiss Chard, herbs, or pumpkins. There is so much green and everything is bursting with color!

Is sweet corn a fruit or a vegetable?

You want it, we got it! 🚨 During the current Cyclospora outbreak, buying local produce can be a great choice.

At Pickering Hill Farms, we’re proud to offer , produce and be transparent about where your food comes from. ❤️🌽
