Sunday Series | Entrepreneurship as a Grieving Mom💕

Respectfully, if you don’t know, you don’t know. And that’s okay. Just be kind.

This week brought more challenges than I care to explain. And if there’s one thing entrepreneurship continues to teach me, it’s that not every situation deserves a reaction, not every thought needs to be spoken, and not every battle is ours to fight.

Sometimes growth looks like biting your tongue, choosing to be the bigger person, recognizing your limits, and standing firm in your boundaries.

As a grieving mom, I’ve learned that my peace is something I have to protect. There are already things I carry every single day that people will never see or understand.

You can be kind without allowing people to take advantage of your kindness. You can extend grace while still having respect for yourself.

And sometimes, the biggest lesson isn’t about what you accomplished that week. It’s about how you handled what tried to break your spirit.

Another week of learning, growing, grieving, and showing up anyway.💕

Although there’s some truth to this, building a business ISN'T the HARDEST thing I’ve ever had to do.

Building a business while grieving my son definitely comes with its challenges, but it’s also given me a completely different perspective.

I’ve already survived the hardest day of my life.

So the hard days in business? The mistakes, the no’s, the things that don’t work out, the moments where I have absolutely no idea what I’m doing 😂…they just don’t feel quite as scary.

Building Buhlolo has pushed me, has challenged me and has taught me SO much about myself.

I’m so grateful for the perspective it’s given me and I’m excited for what’s still to come💕

I knew this week would feel heavy. That part wasn’t a surprise.

What is a surprise is the fact that he’s actually gone.

What is a surprise is realizing I haven’t heard his voice in over three years. I haven’t heard his laugh. I haven’t heard him walk through the door or call out for me.

How has it been three years?

How have I survived three years without him?

Sometimes that’s the part of grief that still doesn’t make sense to me. You somehow keep living while still wondering how you’re living without them.

And maybe that’s why some weeks feel heavier than others.

Because no matter how much time passes, I’m still his mom.

I still miss him.

And I still wish he was here.
