Good news everyone! It’s Friday, it’s a holiday weekend, and we have new beer! Sounds like a good day to us! Last year, we tapped our horchata cream ale, Arroz of Icarus and you all… well you DESTROYED it. We went through it so fast that we had to change some plans. Normally, we release Rice Climbers (our rice crispy treat cream ale) one year, and alternate with Icarus the next. After your excitement last year, we decided that this year, we’d release both at the same time! That’s right, that’s TWO beers coming out on tap and in cans today!
If you aren’t familiar with these two brews, there’s only a few things you need to know. First, both Rice Climbers and Arroz of Icarus are crisp, light, easy drinking cream ales that are absolutely perfect for summer. Second, neither beer uses any lactose. We get the creamy flavors through carefully selected grains and, most importantly, specific strains and origins of the vanilla we use in each. This year, we used a new strain of vanilla called Guatemalan Cribbiana in Rice Climbers. The marshmallow flavors that we got from the Tahitian vanilla in previous releases was amazing, but this new strain is even better. You really have to try it and experience it for yourself. And as always, Arroz of Icarus somehow imparts just enough rice flavor and vibrant cinnamon to bring all the best of horchata and beer together in one glass.
Other than that, just remember we will be open on Memorial Day during our normal Monday business hours (4pm to 9pm). Come try the cream ales and pick up some cans for your get togethers! We’re also inching closer to this year’s Phoenix Fan Fusion, so grab your passes if you’re going, and we’ll see you there as well!
