The tongue in the picture, belongs to our dog named cat. Actually it’s Kat with a K, and named after Arianna Grande’s character in Victorious and Sam & Cat. See, this has been a family business since the beginning in 2006. At the time Lauren was 8, Gwyn was 6 and Jess was 4. The were involved with the great moments, the messy stuff and the miracle of birth. And of course, they always got to help pick the names. Although Lauren & Gwyneth are off to college. Jessica is in full training to do this for her own career. Jess is autistic and has had a lot of struggles, including multiple stays at Children’s Hospital last year, but she is great with the dogs & loves the puppies. Taking them for walks on our long country road is a favorite. We have also been talking about training them as service dogs soon. This business was mostly built so “Dad” Ron could be home with the girls, while “Mom” LeAnne (aka Ally) could continue her career in radio. It was one of the many things Dad did with the kids growing up, in addition to a working recording studio (Dad was a sound engineer prior and a drummer still) as well as breeding Persian Cat’s (Gwyneth’s business idea, we also still do today) and raising and breeding with a Friesian stallion (who Lauren then sold to pay for college). Although we may do it again in the future. Dad now works for Howard Hannah Real Estate in Murrysville and Mom still dabbles in commercial radio, and is full time at home with Jess and the pups, etc. This is a part of our family, and it treated with the same love, care and pride. btw, people always ask why we call the business “Poverty Ranch.” That is the name that a previous owner (Tipper Silvis) gave to the home. It was built in 1928 by Samuel Kier, the grandson and namesake of the first man to refine oil in America. Thank you for your interest.
