This may not look like much yet...but the past two days I've been hanging in the shop by myself and sometimes the girls, building a better shelter for my mulefoot pigs. I have been using old wood from our horse barn we lost a couple years back so it's definitely not winning any beauty contests....but hopefully when I'm done it'll look a lot nicer. (Don't mind the mess of a shop...ive been having to take apart old boards etc.)

Early tomorrow morning I have an appointment with my lymphoma doctor in Rochester. Miguel was outside doing chores and getting things set up for my dad in the morning, when he walks in the house with these little things. He found them hanging out by the chicken coop. One of my ducks made a nest somewhere and hatched 4 baby ducks. I have NO idea where the nest is, as the ducks get free roam of the whole property. With it being so ungodly hot it must have helped the eggs right along. Hopefully this is all of them! They are now safe under a heat lamp and we are finally on our way to Rochester.

A very late upload but our new pony "Bigfoot" (Peyton picked the name since his hooves were so overgrown) is doing well. We got his hooves trimmed and all of the mats off of him. He's finally acting like a pony! He's gaining weight, has been dewormed, etc. We've been taking things slow with him and trying to not do too much with him at once. He's very friendly and a great addition to the farm!

I was a little behind on my garden this year, because when spring comes the animal things that need done are always top priority....anywho my dad gave me radishes to plant and I ate my first one out of the garden the other day. I swear to you I have either became a real wuss or my dad went to the depths of hell and found radishes mixed with ghost peppers

PSA if you are going to get a hooved animal make sure you are going to get the hooves properly trimmed! It is extremely important to prevent lameness, abnormal hoof growth, a chronic hoof disease, etc. Proper brushing and coat maintenance is a must too. I got this little guy this weekend and he can barely walk with these hooves and he's matted down to the skin. Owning animals is expensive so if you cannot provide the proper care that they need to have the lives they should, stick to a stuffed animal.

Albus is one of my very spoiled barn cats. He came to the farm after his previous owner (my amazing friend) abruptly got the news that they were going to have to find a new place to live. They had rented a farm house for years and had barn kitties. She was extremely selective on where her barn cats went because they meant so very much to her, especially Albus. I am so honored that she trusted me and asked me if I could take him. He resides with my other barn cats and a few TNR cats we've done. They get tuna, salmon, sardines, etc as snacks, a big barn, cat trees and scratching posts etc.

The goats love running around with the kids when we are outside! Love being so far off the road so the goats can come out and play while we are watching them. Also, I know my grass needs mowed but got other things to worry about right now (plus we are feeding the bees)

I said I wasn't going to put any eggs in the incubator this year but our goose started laying eggs and Peyton really wanted to hatch a goose egg. At first I wasn't even sure if they were fertile or if one of my geese were a male...but I put two duck eggs and two geese eggs in the incubator. Ducks and geese are hard to hatch but so far I'm 2/2 for my ducks and both of the geese eggs are fertile and had babies growing. Fingers crossed I can get at least one goose to hatch.
