micro-climate and rich soil are perfect for avocados. Rancho Vasquez is the only avocado orchard left in the San Gabriel Valley, nestled in the foothills of Azusa. The pride and hard work that goes into caring for each tree is immeasurable.

Did you know the world’s most popular avocado- the creamy, bumpy skinned Hass- was born right here in Southern California?
Back in 1926, a mail carrier named Rudolph Hass planted a few seedlings on his property in La Habra Heights. He thought they were one variety… but surprise! One tree produced something totally different: richer, nuttier, and way better. That lucky chance seedling became the mother of almost every Hass avocado grown today! 🌳💚
From a backyard experiment to grocery stores everywhere…talk about a California success story!
