Aren't goat friends the best? Who knew that over a decade ago with what started as buying a 2 yr old Saanen milker with a loud mouth (Queen Liz, GCH Kickadee Hill WRS Look At Liz) would turn into such a friendship.

Oh and Liz never made a peep here 😉 She can be traced to every L goat in our herd 💗

Wishing our behind the scenes guy Nathan a Very Happy Birthday today 🥳

Timing worked out perfectly with the arrival of a new Mini Jersey Bottle bull calf all the way from Keely Farms in Florida. Thanks to a fellow buyer passing thru Kentucky 🥰 a trip to FL was not needed. Not that Amy would have complained to have her toes in the sand. 🏖

Decades of solid genetics are behind this guy 💗 and Nathan has another Jersey to admire.

Can you smell the Goatmobile now? Amy had a great time showing this evening at the Midsummer Open Dairy Goat Show, Morgan Co Fair in Martinsville, Indiana.

3 boys went up, 2 boys came home and 1 stayed to become an Indiana resident with his new owner. We are excited to see what he does in their herd.

Thank you to all who helped! A HUGE shout out to Jr who graciously tackled showing yearling Alpine Twist to a 2nd, 1st & 4th placings out of 5 in his class. I owe you a breeding or two. Maybe I will have him a tad better trained before his next outing- nobody hold your breath. 🤣

Lori Rayburn, your husband was such a huge help. He gets extra goat show husband credits to redeem down the road with you. You have a good one there.

Thank you to the Show Volunteers who make this show happen. It takes a village and you all make it look like it's easy peasy putting on shows. Great food too (shout out to that fantastic chef!).

And of course Thank You to the Judges. What a great trio you were with being professional and also so much fun.

Congrats to all - especially that handsome Yearling Toggenburg that won BBIS in the other 2 rings. Amy figured he would have swept all 3. He's a phenomenal animal.

Oh and CONGRATS to Manny's breeder, Marilyn Grossman of Kickadee Hill Saanens and Jackie at Snowcrest Saanens for raising him to his potential. Manny is just here on loan so Amy asked if Marilyn minded if we took him to some shows. Who doesn't love getting a Permanent Champion back without having to get stinky and sweaty? 😎

31 pallets, 1 tire (rounded up) & 18 round bales moved today. Up down, up down on the 🚜 (rearranging pallets solo dolo takes alot longer 🤣) and my neck feels like I attempted too much to become an owl with my head swivel moves. 🤪

We are not at all thrilled thinking about Winter, but it will be here before we know it. Let the hay stock up begin.

We had a great time showing today in Harrodsburg. Amy is pretty burnt out with showing, but we couldn't let a local show (less than an hour from our place) go unsupported!

What fantastic competition there was too! It was awesome to see the Toggenburg/AOP on a milk thru lactation win 2 x BSDIS. It was a well deserved honor, as she was beautiful in GA & Mammary.

4 yr old Smoky won a Reserve Grand in AOP under Travis Cockburn. Barely 3 yr old Java made the lineup in both rings and Rythm was 3rd place in both rings in a large 2 yr old RG class.

No youngstock were brought.

Thank you to all who made this show happen. We know how much work goes into it and being able to just be an exhibitor was wonderful 😊

Shout out to the judges Travis Cockburn & Cade Cockburn. You guys are always a blast to show under. ❤️

Our goofy blonde chasing buzzard shadows at the end. As soon as I opened up the field he was on them long before I knew they were there.

He has always had issues with buzzards 😁
