Freezer space tends to be the thing that holds people back from buying in bulk. This gives you an estimate of how much space you would need or each share. For size comparison, the Eighth would take up about two milk crates worth of space.

Eighth Share: ~$650
$6.50/lb. hanging weight
Take-Home Weight = 60-68 lb.

Quarter Share: ~$1,250
$6.25/lb. hanging weight
Take-Home Weight = 120-135 lb.

Half Share: ~$2,400
$6.00/lb. hanging weight
Take-Home Weight = 240-270 lb.

Whole Share: ~$4,600
$5.75/lb. hanging weight
Take-Home Weight = 480-520 lb.

*These prices include the cost of processing and are based on the assumption that the animal’s hanging weight is 800 pounds. We won’t know the hanging weight until they go to the butcher. Because of this, the total price could fluctuate up or down.

**Hanging Weight is the weight of the animal after it has been prepared for meat, but before it is cut into the pieces we eat. ** It's like when you peel an orange and remove the parts you don't eat. We weigh the animal without the inedible parts to know how much meat we can get from it.
Ex. You purchase an Eighth Share, and the Hanging Weight of that animal is 800 lb. Your Eighth Share’s Hanging Weight would be 100 lb. priced at $6.50/lb. and you would pay $650. Then, when the butcher breaks down the carcass into individual cuts, they trim some bones, fat, and connective tissue, which then removes some weight. After everything is cut up and packaged you can expect to take home 60-65% of the hanging weight in products, or what we call the ‘Take Home Weight’.

Each share will consist of ground beef, steaks, and roasts.
