A little Chicken Bella story…

I grew up in Kraków, Poland, and later moved to the United States. My dream of having a little homestead started when I was a young girl. Growing up in the city, I was always fascinated by country life, animals, and the idea of living a little closer to nature.

What makes this story even funnier is that if you had met me just four years ago, you would never have guessed where I would end up. I was actually afraid of chickens… and birds in general! The idea that I would one day hatch chicks, raise chickens, and spend hours talking about feather colors and breeding projects would have sounded absolutely ridiculous.

Yet here I am, living in Colorado and doing something I once only dreamed about.

Today I get to watch chicks hatch, see them grow into beautiful birds, and share that journey with all of you. Every hatch still feels like a miracle. Every tiny life reminds me how much joy can come from the simplest things.

I truly believe God opened a door for me to discover this passion later in life. Chicken Bella is more than a flock of chickens—it’s a dream that slowly became reality.

These adorable Silkie babies are now 6 weeks old and looking for their forever homes! 🐥

All of my chicks are hatched and raised right here at high altitude, making them well adapted to our Colorado climate. From day one, they have been handled regularly and are used to people, everyday activity, and lots of attention.

Silkies are known for their sweet personalities, fluffy feathers, and unique appearance. These little ones are healthy, active, and growing beautifully.

Tomorrow marks one month with Balbina, and I can’t believe how fast she’s growing! ❤️🪿

She loves swimming, munching on grass, and every time she hears me or Leszek, she gets so excited she starts peeping as loud as she can. She’s definitely a little feisty, and when she’s bored, she sometimes picks on my light-colored chickens. 😆

The goslings are getting more used to her every day. Mama Goose still isn’t interested in cuddling, but at least she’s stopped trying to bite her, so we’ll call that progress!

I currently have eight more eggs in the incubator, and I’m really hoping Balbina gets some siblings soon. Although, at this point, I think Balbina might actually be Balbino! 💙

I’m so grateful for this goose journey. Raising different types of birds has been such a rewarding experience, and every day they bring something new to smile about.

Blue, black, and silver Polish chickens—how can you not love these colors? 😍 Every one of them looks like they just stepped out of a fancy hair salon!

Polish chickens are not only beautiful, but they’re also incredibly social. They love hanging out with their flock buddies, following each other around, and getting into mischief together. That’s one reason I never sell just one Polish chick. These little feathered clowns are happiest when they have a friend—or better yet, a whole group of friends!

My babies are growing fast and getting more personality every day. Beautiful colors, funny hairstyles, and sweet temperaments—what’s not to love? ❤️🐔
