This weekend the SilverFire crew loaded up and made the trip to Baton Rouge. On the way we couldn’t help but admire how well purple and gold go together and knew we had to get some more of those ribbons to match....

Saturday morning C**t got us started with SilverFire Broken Halo earning a milking leg and Grand. GCH SilverFire Black Rose 2*M however edged her out for Best of Breed, a habit she repeated three of four rings. SilverFire Raindrop collected her first Reserve of the weekend.

In ring two, SilverFire Wasabi edged out reserve winner SilverFire Play the Game for the final leg of her championship. Wasabi went on to get own Best of Breed and our first Best in Show!

On day two, SilverFire Latigo got us started when she rose to the top with her own Grand, finishing her championship as well! With SilverFire Raindrop grabbing Reserve again behind her, then grabbing another reserve in ring 4. Always the brides maid…..

When it was time for the juniors to shine, it was SilverFire Rage and Ruin getting us started coming out of the middle of the 9-12 month class to pick up a Grand ribbon and junior leg with SilverFire Little Smack picking up a Reserve behind her. C**t stood proud again when he showed SilverFire Stagger Down to her first leg before going on to their own Best in Show, with SilverFire Final Score watching from her Reserve spot. Score later decided those purple and gold ribbons looked like fun so she strutted her way to her Grand and Best in Show too! SilverFire Cadillac picked up a Reserve as we finished off the show on an amusing note, when SilverFire Big Texas finished the show picking up her restricted leg and closing it down with a Best in Show to bring us up to 4!

Word is our travels didn't end on Sunday either, with a trip over 4 state lines coming up Tuesday/Wednesday this week..... stay tuned 😉.

She might be old, but she's still gorgeous. GCH CaprinoRoyale Freesia 1*M EX93. The last foundation doe of our herd still alive and could pry still take on half the herd if we milked her still. She is well retired from the show string, mostly retired from the milk string other than when she insists, and living out her days teaching the first fresheners that they better get up on that stand or get right out of her way. She still enjoys a nice short summer clip every year and gets her cookie afterwards.

Direct progeny in the herd are +*B GCH SilverFire Ray Wylie EX92, GCH SilverFire Black Rose 2*M EX92, and up and coming SilverFire Gold Digger. We sadly lost her phenomenal other son, ++*B GCH SilverFire Toby Keith EX92, last year and have limited semen available from him.

It's been a few years but District 6 finally hosted a Nubian Specialty again at the Spring Fling in Mineral Wells! We spent a quick weekend and had a good time with friends. Young C**t started off our weekend with his senior doe,SilverFire Broken Halo, and his junior, SilverFire Stagger Down, both grabbing a pretty green Reserve Grand Youth rosette.

Nubian specialty results rocketed off with GCH SilverFire Black Rose 2*M going Reserve Grand and Best Udder. 1st place in the senior does was 1yo SilverFire Up All Night, 2yo SilverFire Wasabi, 3yo GCH SilverFire Black Rose 2*M, and 4yo GCH SilverFire Dance the Tide 3*M. Group classes were a clean sweep for the SilverFire girls with 1st places in Get of Sire(++*B Woest-Hoeve SR Ace), Dam and Daughter(GCH SilverFire Captain Morgan 2*M), Breeders Trio, and Dairy Herd.

Our senior does also picked up a Reserve Grand in the remaining rings with SilverFire Wasabi and a Best of Breed and Best in Show with GCH SilverFire Black Rose 2*M.

Junior does rocked the specialty with SilverFire Mockingbird taking Grand with SilverFire Selfish Disregard behind her for Reserve. Class placings were 4-8 month 1st place for SilverFire Honkeytonk Bar, 8-12 months 1st for SilverFire Old Guitars, 12-18 1st for SilverFire Selfish Disregard, and 18-24 1st for SilverFire Mockingbird. Another clean sweep for group classes with 1st places in and Breeders Trio and Get of Sire (CA Blackberry's TB Lunar) both, and backing it up with a 2nd place Get of Sire group as well for *B GCH SilverFire C.Jinks.

In the remaining rings were two more restricted legs and Grand wins snagged for SilverFire Honkeytonk Bar and SilverFire Get Paid, with a final Best in Show for them each to wrap up our weekend!

We jogged down for a relaxing weekend in some gorgeous country and 3 rings of fun in Comfort TX at the Hill Country Two-Step. The highlight of our trip was young C**t wrapping up his first own bred showdoe's permanent championship for GCH SilverFire Cold Hard Truth 3*M. And he even topped it off with his 3yo doe, SilverFire Broken Halo 2*M, going Reserve behind her. AND Truths daughter, SilverFire Susie Q, earning her junior Grand and restricted leg as well!

The other senior does in the family show string made short work of the remainder of the rosettes, with grands and milking legs on SilverFire Latigo and SilverFire Wasabi, Reserves on SilverFire Play the Game and SilverFire Whiskey Drowns. Wrapping up the senior show were Best of Breeds with GCH SilverFire Cold Hard Truth 2*M, SilverFire Latigo, and GCH SilverFire Black Rose 2*M, with Black Rose bringing home a pretty purple and gold Best in Show as well.

Juniors stacked up their collection adding another grand rosette for SilverFire Three Dollar Wells and Reserves to SilverFire Rage and Ruin, SilverFire Caddilac, and SilverFire Betty Joe Thelma Liz (now known in the barn as ThelMAAAAAAAA)

We did take the extra time with the slow show pace this weekend for lots of pictures too! Enjoy scrolling through this weekends show string and we will see yall at the Nubian Specialty next weekend!

***SOLD*** We have one gorgeous little buckling back available from our spring kiddings. He will be the last available until fall but he can certainly hold his own with any group. His dam, SilverFire Texicans Creed, has gorgeous width, breed character, and an eyecatching mammary. His sire, *B SilverFire Aces Never Lie, is littermate brother to our well proven girl, GCH SilverFire Troubles I Forgot 2*M. We are offering this boy back available at $### to get him moved quickly. Both his sire and dam are only lacking one leg on their championships.

And sometimes it all just comes together.

This weekend the Silverfire herd went to the Milk & Honey in Brownwood TX. SilverFire Toasted made her return to the show ring from her successful junior career, going Grand twice and finishing off her championship. Close on her heels was 3yo SilverFire Texicans Creed and 2yo year old SilverFire Play the Game in reserves. GCH SilverFire Salt and Lime however edged Toast out for the Best of Breed in both challenge classes, then went on to collect two Best in Show because she wanted a shiny buckle.

The juniors then took the stage with SilverFire Mile High and SilverFire Hustlin earning their Grandsr with Hustlin earning a Best in Show with SilverFire Big Texas earning a reserve and SilverFire Little Smack, Toasts first daughter, gathering two Reserve ribbons herself.

Not to be left home this time, SilverFire Aces Never Lie and Sunflower Farms Smooth Talker split the buck rings, each catching two Grands, Never a Reserve and Smooth two Reserves. But it was *B GCH SilverFire C.Jinks that came out of the champion challenge class at just two years old not once but 4 times on top to represent the Nubians and earn his own Best in Show buckle.

And then Easter Sunday, the appropriately named SilverFire Rise Above, “Risen”, started off with one Reserve ribbon, with GCH SilverFire Black Rose 2*M getting her first Best of Breed from the challenge class. And then it all came together with
Risen ended the day with Grand and finishing her last championship leg and earning her own first Best of Breed.

And that is how it sometimes all comes together…

***SOLD***

We have a super handsome little guy born March 7th needs a herd of his own! He's about as red as they can come but still completely eye-catching without a drop of white on him. Going to be a looker and can pass it on to his get!

His dam, SilverFire Whiskey Drowns, earned her junior leg by a landslide last summer, and backed it up with 2x Grand Junior Doe at the Forth Worth Stock Show and Rodeo. Her dam, GCH SilverFire One Lone Star 1*M, needs no introduction in our herd. As well as her paternal sister, GCH SilverFire Black Tie Affair 2*M, the 2025 1st place 7 and older doe, as well as National Best Udder. We took that solid foundation and crossed her on the son of one of the most impressive does we've ever bred, GCH SilverFire Up For A Rodeo 2*M.

When it comes to pedigrees, it doesn't get much richer than this little dude in our herd. We are excited to see his sister grow and mature and hope to place him in a performance home himself. We will be asking $### for this boy until his dams first milk test. Don't miss out on a simple price on what will be a stunning top tier buckling and get your deposit in to hold him fast!
