An inside look at watching an efficient crew sort cattle, and load trucks… everyone knows their jobs and do them well and the cattle just flow! Time to jump on the trucks and bring those calves home!☀️

❗️SALE DAY PREP -~ Part 3 ❗️
… all of the cattle are brought in and washed before coming down to the headquarters for presentation. The shaved areas are where we ultrasounded in order to measure backfat, ribeye area, and importantly, intermuscular fat. This tells us a lot about our genetics and emphasizing those traits that provide a good eating experience for the consumer. They’re headed for the wash rack and then on down to the sale day headquarters.☀️

❗️Thursday Throwback❗️
As a seedstock producer with annual production sales, it constantly amazes me to look back and see all that needs to be done before a sale… the next few weeks we’ll be running some of our videos on sale preparations, which actually starts in December with taking pictures of the sale lots and January assembling the catalog, taking weights and gathering test gain and Feedlot information, ultrasounding so that we get the most information from our performance data and tools available, videoing, etc. We’ll be featuring a few of the highlights the next few weeks!
☀️ This video was taken in the early morning, a few days before sale day… the guys were working on snow removal and getting the pens ready for the cattle to come down! The job might not be so great, but you can’t beat the view!!☀️

☀️Switching gears and headed to the range to Preg and pre-vacc a set of commercial calves. Despite the drought this summer, this set of calves has performed outstanding… our customers have the guarantee that our sale bulls will go go out and do their job and perform in desert conditions, because that’s what we do ourselves! ☀️
