Moving pigs to pasture can be a dicey situation. If you’ve never chased loose piglets, you know what I mean. Having two solidly trained dogs makes all the difference. We were able to move this group of piglets 400 yards to their new pasture home with minimal stress and effort.

We’ve been raising pastured Pigs for nearly 30 years and have found that one strand of Polywire is far superior than multiple strands or net fencing. One strand of Polywire enables quick, efficient moves, and minimizes buried wire, which can reduce the voltage on your fence and lead to escaped pigs. It is important that you have maximum voltage on your fencing system during this training process so that the pigs are fully “imprinted“. Once they are trained, they will always respect it (unless you leave the fence off😳).

Virtual fencing is an amazing technology. However, getting livestock into the virtual pasture can be challenging. This is where good, trained stock dogs shine.
