Huntsman Farms

Huntsman Farms Huntsman Farm first crop was in 1954 in Bald K**b, AR. and had a great influance on a lot of people in that area.

The Huntsman Farm was started and cleared in the 1950's. The Huntsman's spent a lot of time and money in establishing a irrigation system that was state of the art. It allowed them irrigate crops in the worest of drought conditions. The Huntsman built hundreds of miles of roads to make the farm more efficient. The Huntsman's had their own granary , fertilizer plant and tractor dealership to suppor

t the farming effort. The Huntsman's also kept the fields flooded to host duck hunters. In the spirit of conservation they had rest areas for the ducks that no hunters would be allowed to hunt. The Huntsman Farm is now the Bald K**b National Wildlife Refuge and is considered a major staging and wintering area for this prairie species. Here is the website https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bald_K**b_National_Wildlife_Refuge
