Our for June is ... lettuce! Just in time for fresh summer salads. 🥗

We buy our lettuce through Future Farm Grown, located in Baldwin, Wisconsin. We believe in the value of supporting local production — and providing local foods to those who need it most. This builds up our local food system. Last year, we bought 4,298 heads of butterhead lettuce to support our programs. That's approximately 1,343 pounds of produce!

🌿 Exciting Announcement 🌿
We are thrilled to share some big news with all our supporters and partners! Formerly known as Future Farm Grown LLC, we have officially transitioned into a non-profit organization called Generous Harvest. 🌾
Since 2010, Future Farm Grown, LLC has been dedicated to growing top-quality leafy greens and head lettuce using innovative Controlled Environment Agriculture methods at our facility in Baldwin, Wisconsin. Our products have been reaching distribution partners across the Midwest, including major food service distributors in the region.
In response to the significant increase in demand for locally grown produce, especially in food insecurity programs, we began collaborating with hunger relief partners in 2023. This shift in focus inspired us to convert our business into a 501C3 non-profit organization to better support these crucial programs.
While our name and mission have evolved, our commitment to providing high-quality products remains unchanged. Generous Harvest will operate by selling to both for-profit and non-profit organizations, ensuring sustainable revenue to cover operational expenses.
To further our impact, we will be engaging with donors and grant programs to establish a Subsidy fund. This fund aims to reduce or eliminate costs for organizations involved in hunger relief efforts within our region.
Effective as of 1/1/2024, we have officially changed our organization's status and filed for our 501C3 on 1/24/2024. Stay tuned for the gradual transition from Future Farm Grown to Generous Harvest in the coming months, along with exciting updates on partnerships that have blossomed since refocusing our efforts.
