Can someone help me figure out what this guy is even talking about? I literally have no idea who he thinks I’m scamming or what he thinks is AI. Our kids roast me for refusing to use AI at all and our farm name is from everything raised here being raised or produced on the river. And because Jesus raised from the dead. And we believe in farming as a way to give glory to God for the blessings He has given us. If I ever even get an idea from someone, I’m tagging them. 😳

Without cattle on this farm, we would likely be underwater after a season of drought and a week of rain. We are at 5.68” of rain in the last seven days based off my trusty rain gauge. That’s a lot! And I don’t think we’ve lost any of it. 😊

Still gathering my thoughts and sorting through my feelings….and milking with the cat. 🫶🏼

Activist: "Your cows are putting carbon into the atmosphere."
Farmer: "Where did they get it?"
Activist: "What?"
Farmer: "The carbon. Where did the cow get it before it put it anywhere."
Activist: "From... eating?"
Farmer: "From eating grass. And where did the grass get it."
Activist: "The soil?"
Farmer: "The air. The grass pulled it out of the air last spring. The cow ate the grass. The cow breathed some of it back out. It went back into the air it came from."
Activist: "But it's still going into the atmosphere."
Farmer: "It's going back. There's a difference between a thing going somewhere and a thing going back. You've described a circle and you're frightened of it."
Activist: "Then just don't have the cow."
Farmer: "The grass still dies in autumn. It rots where it falls. The carbon goes back into the air either way, just without anyone getting fed in the middle."
Activist: "It's not that simple."
Farmer: "It's grass, cow, breath, grass. Or it's grass, rot, air, grass. Same circle, fewer dinners. If that's complicated for you I'd stay away from the water cycle. That one's got clouds in it."

Resume 📝 : won’t stop for shoes when she realizes the cows are in the flower bed at 6:30 in the morning! ☀️ 🌼 Will call flower milk a value added product and add 15%. 🥛 Happy and healthy cows make the best milk. Can we drink happiness? I think so!

Rotationally grazing is top priority around here but training two huge Brown Swiss how to move is becoming a roll of the dice. They don’t think they should have boundaries or limits. Little do they know, the rules are to give them better forage! Life is kind of like that, isn’t it?

I’m heading to vote! You still have time! 🗳️ Most of all, remember you vote every day with your dollar. 💰

Chicks hatching in the wee hours of the morning (3:40 🤪) could certainly have put me in a mood. They were so loud I couldn’t sleep. But I’m choosing to be grateful for new life and savoring the blessing that it is. After milking, I’m taking a dear friend to a doctors appointment, she’s in her 90’s! Having just passed the anniversary of my youngest brother’s passing at 29 and approaching the first anniversary of my crazy animal loving birthday bestie who left us at only 36, I know that our days are numbered (Psalm 139!) and I pray each day that I don’t take that lightly. Happy Monday, y’all. Go serve someone 🫶🏼
