Chuffie the cat - Chuffles (Chuffie) came to Creekwater Farm after her original owners became empty nesters and were traveling a lot for work. Chuffie did not like being left alone! This big fluffball has been with us for about 6 years and is a lovable lap kitty. She is our garage kitty and rules the upper part of the farm (except she doesn’t go anywhere near the Sheps!). Tough Chuff is happy to sit in your lap and purr loudly! Be careful, though, if you leave your car door open, she will climb in.

Lizzie the Llama -Lizzie came to us from an Ohio alpaca farm where she was a guard llama for the little alpaca guys. She still is in guard mode most of the time, so if she spits don’t be surprised. She is alert and always watching. The clue is if her ears go back, then you back up – remember SPIT HAPPENS!. Llama spit is harmless but is pretty darned smelly. If she is feeling kind, she will sniff your hand, or take an alfalfa cube. Just remember, she is doing her job. She is the top llama in our pasture and likes to tell you so!

Tricks the Alpaca -Trick or Treat is better known as Tricks, our little male alpaca. Tricks likes to think he is a ladies’ man, but our lady llamas show him who’s the boss! He’s a quiet little guy but loves to sit in the way of the water when the sprinkler is on. Alpacas are smaller than llamas, even though they are both camelids (yes, related to camels!), and weigh about 150 lbs. Llamas can weigh between 300 and 400 lbs. Alpacas have pointy little ears vs. llama ears that are more rounded and look sort of banana shaped, and llamas have longer snouts, vs. alpacas are more “smushed in” which makes them cute. Their hair is exceptionally soft and prized for making socks, sweaters, and scarves.
