Four orange butterflies. Only one is a monarch. 🦋

The Monarch, Viceroy, Queen, and Painted Lady can look similar at a glance in American gardens and wild spaces. But compare their caterpillars, chrysalises, and wings, and the differences appear: the Viceroy has a black line across its hindwings, the Painted Lady starts as a spiny caterpillar, and a Queen chrysalis can sometimes be pink.

Which one would have fooled you?

Yay!!

Monarch butterflies are on the move! 🦋 Their fall migration takes them south across North America, with many traveling hundreds or even thousands of miles to reach wintering grounds in Mexico and California.

PROTECT THE BEES 🐝🌼

France is moving to ban bee-killing pesticides — a powerful step toward protecting our pollinators and nature. 🌍💛

Bees are tiny, but their role in our food system is enormous.
A safer world for bees means a healthier future for us all.

Protect bees. Protect flowers. Protect our future. 🐝🌎

Love them!!

Instead of spraying them down, consider letting a patch thrive in a corner of your yard or garden. They're drought-tolerant, they attract pollinators, and they're basically free medicine and food. Plus, once you start using them, you'll stop seeing them as a problem.

📅 𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝟓 — 𝐎𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝟏𝟓,𝟎𝟎𝟎 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠… 𝐧𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐲 𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫.
The San Clemente Island goat lived feral on a remote California island, isolated for generations.
Then came eradication efforts in the late 1900s.
Most were lost.
A small number were rescued and brought to the mainland—forming the foundation of today’s population.
By the early 2000s, only a few hundred goats remained worldwide—some estimates as low as 200.
Every San Clemente Island goat alive today traces back to that effort.
This isn’t just a breed — it’s a second chance.
