August is such a bittersweet month. On the farm, it’s the time when months of planning, planting, tending, and hard work finally come to fruition. Homegrown vegetables, fruits, flowers, pasture raised pork, and honey are ripe and ready to be harvested and preserved. We finally finished our fencing and welcomed Penny home! With the addition of Willie and Waylon! We did it. This is what we have been working and hoping for. At the same time, we find ourselves trying to slow down as a family- to soak up a beautiful sunset, savor the long evenings, and enjoy the ease and freedom that comes with summer break. The farm is at its fullest while summer is quietly winding down. ✨
