We are heartbroken over the sudden passing of our beloved cat Pumpkin. We got him as a baby right after moving to the farm. He was always there, saying hi at the window, planting in the garden with me, walking the kids to the bus every morning. He was a very special cat. 💔

What a weekend! 💕 A post of gratitude. Thank you to everyone who purchased buns from me this past weekend. I truly hope all the recipients thoroughly enjoyed them! Thank you to Lisette and Jen for reaching out and giving me the opportunity to create these sweet homemade treats to pair with their beautiful tulips. I love learning new things and challenging myself to see what I can accomplish. Now, I know that I can make 108 sourdough cinnamon rolls over the course of 3 days when each of my 4 kids has a game/practice/regatta/tournament. Thank you to my family, they supported me and cheered me on! They were the best taste testers and hype girls/guy that you could ever hope for 😆. So now that I’ve got this down, I might as well keep making them! Stay tuned for dates when I’ll have pre-orders open for fresh baked sourdough cinnamon rolls available for pickup at our farmstand.

Super sweet to have a bee expert as a neighbor! Denis has been instrumental in our bee journey. Can’t thank him enough- he was also a huge help during maple season! The raw local honey we are selling on our stand is from his apiary. Today they split the hives🤞🏻 🐝 🍯

I was inspired by using pickled jalapeños in her sourdough - I made this using my cowboy candy aka candied jalapeños and cheddar! I don’t usually make bread the kids won’t eat but we gotta try new things. LOVE the chunks of cheese vs shredded, you can actually see and taste the cheese. I’ll definitely be making this again! Enjoying a delish egg and cheese sandwich for breakfast today! What new inclusions have you been trying??

Basement seedlings are looking good! In 2 weeks I’ll pot up some of these and then start the hardening off process. These little guys are just babies and need be slowly introduced to the great outdoors, increasing their time outside every few days. I hope to have an outdoor greenhouse in the future to make this step a little easier- pretty time consuming with my current set up- but a good workout!

I have almost all of my flowers started in the basement greenhouse and they’re looking great! This weekend I’ll start around 400-500 zinnias and that should do it for flowers. Ranunculus will be planted out soon and in a few weeks I’ll start waking up dahlia tubers. It always amazes me what these little bitty seedlings will produce over a season! The geese are not making it easy to feed them these days! The males get really protective during mating season. Head down pointed at you is a sign that they are going to charge! One bit me a few weeks ago on my thigh and it hurt more than I thought it would! Just driving by them they charge at cars going by 😆 but I get it, they want to protect their growing family! I was very excited to find 3 eggs in the nest!!! I’ll get the incubator out after spring break to see if we can hatch some gosling this year. I might be selling goslings if I’m successful, send me a PM if you’re local and possibly interested in raising your own geese!
