As a small business owner, it can be challenging to compete with big box retailers. They often have the advantage of purchasing products in large quantities and selling at lower prices. But sometimes, quantity comes at the expense of quality.

I’ve realized that the biggest difference between what they’re building and what I’m building for my community is intention.

I may not have a large inventory, hundreds of employees, or massive wholesale contracts. What I do have is passion, dedication, and a commitment to creating quality products, one small batch at a time.

Every tea blend, tincture, glycerite, and wellness product from Rooted Releaf Apothecary is crafted with care, attention to detail, and a genuine desire to serve others. My goal isn’t to be the biggest. My goal is to create products I am proud to share with my community.

Did you know you can use your SNAP and Farmers Market Nutrition Program (both WIC and Senior) benefits at the farmers market? In addition, we have a matching program through Maryland Market Money to help make your dollar spread a little further.

Experiencing food insecurity but waiting for your benefits to kick in. Or, maybe you don't qualify for the government programs but are still struggling to make the meet. We also partner with Breadcoin to make sure that we can meet those needs too. This funding is limited each market, but all you have to do is ask and we will give it if we have it.

One of the goals of the Overlea Farmers Market is to bring locally grown and made foods to EVERYONE in our neighborhood. Please reach out if you have any questions about how these programs work, and I will be happy to walk you through what I know.

Signs are going out starting today. The first 30 people to grab a picture (safely) of one of our signs around town and bring it to the community tent on June 6th, can have a free streetcar sticker or a streetcar bag. If you find one that isn't on Belair Road, I'll give you both.
