I was just asked about my skin and chronic concerns like acne and eczema. I am posting my response here.
While not entirely about yerba, I wrote about how eating an anti-inflammatory diet healed all of those skin issues.
I dealt with so much acne and eczema in my life. It plagued me. I was always so frustrated with my skin and embarrassed.
I tried tons of topical washes and creams. And, while they might have slightly helped at times, I could see it wasn't the answer.
For me, it was all about what I ATE AND DRANK.
I hate writing this because I actually wished there were a magic cream or pill I could take. It would be so much easier!
Easier still was a pill of tetracyclin that I took daily for about 6 years (which by the way, knocked out my gut flora which is an issue I am still dealing with to this day, but that is another issue altogether)
Here is what happened...
I had a dermatologist once tell me to get off of peanut butter. I was able to do this and I swear, my skin totally cleared up.
For reals!!!
But after two weeks, I needed my peanut butter and there you go, back to the topicals. But, this derm dr. gave me a great clue, and I realized that it was an inside job.
After a few years, when I really understood more about cravings and food intolerance, I tried this again. I was able to, one by one, knock out gluten, dairy and sugar while minimizing oils like nut butters.
Voila. Problem solved.
Gone was the acne and gone was the awful rashy, red and angry, scaley gross puffiness along my hairline.
Is this the easy solution? No. Do I hate admitting it? Yes. Do most groan when I say this? Yes. But that was the answer for me.
And the interesting part was that I didn't have to pay anyone or buy a product. It was all me.
No one profited off that solution but me. It is the opposite of what we see advertised to us. This solution helped resolve not only my skin, but my gut, mental health and energy.
It's all on you.
