Hello friends,

I wanted to take a moment to share an update with you on our greenhouse.

After much thought and prayer, we have made the difficult decision to keep our greenhouse closed indefinitely.

Over the past few years, we have faced challenging weather conditions, extreme heat, strong winds, and the many demands that come with maintaining a greenhouse. While we have loved providing plants through the greenhouse, we have come to realize that our time and energy are better spent focusing on the parts of Grand Oak Herb Farm that we can continue to offer at our very best.

Our gardens remain open for you to enjoy, and we will continue offering workshops, events, herbal products, gifts, and all the things that make Grand Oak special. We are grateful for your understanding and for the support you have shown us through the years.

Thank you for being part of our Grand Oak family. We look forward to welcoming you to the farm and sharing many more seasons together.

With gratitude,

Beulah

In Michigan, we all get a little eager this time of year… but when it comes to planting herbs outdoors, patience usually pays off.

With temperatures still bouncing around in the 40s and 50s, many herbs are happier staying protected a little while longer. Cold nights and chilly soil can slow growth and stress tender plants, even if the daytime sunshine feels promising.

A good rule of thumb:
- Wait until overnight temperatures are consistently above 50°
- Soil feels warm to the touch
- The extended forecast looks stable without frost warnings

Hardier herbs like chives, parsley, thyme, oregano, and mint can usually handle cooler spring temperatures pretty well. More tender herbs like basil, dill, and lemongrass definitely prefer warmer days and nights before planting outdoors.

Michigan spring keeps us guessing every year, but giving your herbs a little extra patience now usually means stronger, healthier plants all summer long.

Hi friends, thank you for bearing with us as we added all of the events at the farm out here to our Facebook "Events" section. Hope we didn't clog up your Newsfeed too much. ❤️

Check out our "Events" tab to see an overview of all of the events we'll have going on this upcoming season. A quick reminder that all events are still pre-register, pre-pay, and solely marking "Going" or "Interested" doesn't secure a spot. Each event has a "Get Tickets" link for easy registration.
We ask for pre-registration and pre-payment so that we know exactly how much of everything to make and provide to you.

But, if you feel like helping spread the word - whenever you mark "Interested" - it helps our event reach a larger audience here on Facebook. We'd love your support!

May 15th will be here before we know it! See you then.
