The VLK Stadium calves are living up to our expectations. They are coming easy and with plenty of vigor. He seems to stamp them all with a little extra shape and depth. We really like this little heifer out of a Frontrunner x Ala Mode daughter. She’s fancy, sound and 3 dimensional at just a few weeks of age. She’s going to be a fun one to follow through the summer.

I snapped this the other day as I came in from checking calves. This is a pretty good example of what we strive for in our cow herd. Big ribbed, deep sided, sound, soft, easy fleshing, maternal looking females. Most of the females in this picture are pushing a decade old or better and still do their job efficiently and without a lot of fanfare. I don’t know if they’re everyone’s kind but they’re dang sure our kind.
