Final stop to meet Betty Stikkers from Woolpowers. Betty has invested a lot of hours understanding the multitude of breeds throughout the world. She raises Shetlands as well. My goal is to learn more about what Betty is doing to help strengthen the EU wool community.

Handcraft School – Phase Two

It’s time for the next chapter of the Texas Fiber Gathering, The Sheepwalk Ranch & Fiber Mill and The Wool Farmer tm.

We are developing an immersive internship program that bridges the gap between mill processing and traditional handcraft. Students will explore wool from raw fleece to finished product while gaining hands-on experience in both modern and heritage methods.

Ideal applicants will be pursuing studies in:

* Agriculture and fiber production
* Art history and ancient craft traditions
* Sustainable textiles and wool systems
* Related fields supporting the future of wool and fiber arts

As part of the program, each student will complete a project, research paper, or thesis-style presentation to be shared during the final week.

Additional details, qualifications, and application requirements will be released soon. Please wait for our official announcement before submitting inquiries, as we are not yet accepting applications.

We’re excited to share more as this program takes shape and to help cultivate the next generation of wool producers, makers, researchers, and innovators.

Applications will open in a future announcement. Stay tuned.

A very profound visit. I finally saw first hand a Ramella mill. I love my so this was a day to understand another mill perspective. I hate math but we figured out some things. It was nice to meet another like-minded soul who has as many irons in the fire. But the passion is amazing! We learned about each step of the process.
