in 1956, Mitchell's Patch of Blue specializes in organic heirloom blueberries and has about 20,000 bushes that are a combination of Rubel, Duke, Pemberton, Blueray, Earliblue, Jersey, & Bluecrop. Ran by Kyle Mitchell, a sixth-generation Michigan farmer, third-generation organic blueberry farmer, and Kalamazoo Valley Agrifoods, Culinary Arts, & Horticulture Professor. began with four acres of Jersey and Rubel blueberries, fast-forward to present day, that dream has expanded to 25 acres, boasting Seven varieties of Certified Organic Heirloom Blueberries.

Thank you all for another season. Pre-picked Organic Blueberries are sold out for the 2026 season. We do have frozen 2lb and 4lb bags of 2026 Heirloom Blueberries at $5/lb, and frozen 2026 Organic Blueberry Puree $25/qt.

U-pick Berries are now quite soft and officially fall into the Late Harvest category for us. We are at $1/lb and it is a pick at your own risk because the pests like our berries just as much you do, only they try to eat 24 hours a day. Please message us if your interested in conquering this scavenger hunt as the sign up genius is currently off.
