Lookin for work.
Not a path to career advancement, employment opportunity, position, calling or passion.
Just work.
No horrible backstabbing coworkers, no 90 lb jackhammers or roofing in the summer, no exposure to chemicals, manure, or doing horrible soul crushing, exhausting, dangerous things for just enough gas money to get to work and a sandwich.
I’ve already had too much experience with all of that.
I’m just looking for work that I am smart enough to do, for the next 20 years or at least until my kids can feed themselves.
Then I can be done.

So……
Since California had to switch from free paper bags to free plastic, then to thick reusable plastic,(that nobody reused), back to thin plastic that costs money, finally back to paper bags again…..
Do we still have to buy them?

Am I the only one who feeds extra on the holidays?
Throws an extra sheaf on Thanksgiving?
Or has wrapped presents under the tree for my pets from Santa Claws or Santa Paws?
I hope not.
Animals aren’t here as long as we are, they need the best life we can give them.

With our first hard frost, I’ve finally given up on our garden,
and fed it all to the pigs.
While smaller this year, it kept providing a lot longer than usual, due to the heavy early autumn rains and the fact that we’re a bit above the Tule fog that has the lowlanders socked in for a month.
We are counting our blessings, though they be sometimes few and far between. 🎄

Avoid the stressful stores and stuff their stockings with a piglet.
It’ll fit just right for those who deserve a pet, or a prank!! 😆
Just imagine their shocked faces on Christmas morning.

When people start talking about a “broken system”, homesteading, living off grid, etc etc. it always catches my attention, because I love that back to basics, self reliant stuff.
But you have to remember that you’re only as free as they let you be. They being big business and government. You only have the rights that you are willing to actually physically defend.

To put it in terms that even I understand….
I have a chicken who refuses to live in the coop. Won’t lay me eggs, won’t take my free food, or housing. And I allow it. I get that. Me and that chicken are the same. Freedom over servitude.
But when ALL the chickens move out and quit producing, well then we’re eating fried chicken instead of scrambled eggs. 😉

We had a lot of fun tonight at the Forbestown’s Hometown Christmas!
We shook off the rust, and sold some handcrafted products.
It was great to see all the smiling faces of folks who came out to support their local traditions.
