I am proud to say that I haven't worked for anyone other than myself since 2019. I am also proud to say that in 2026, I will return to work for someone other than myself. I have never used my psychology/criminology education from WMU, and I've always had a passion for helping those who have a difficult time helping themselves. So, as of today, I accepted a job starting in January 2026 in this field and will be assisting individuals with mental health concerns, mental disabilities, and other disabilities.
For privacy reasons, I won't name my new employer, but I just wanted to share this exciting new chapter and put out a notice that the farm will be self-serve 4 days per week this year while I'm working at my "other job" 😊 Hopefully by doing this, we will also be able to save and re open my wife's grooming shop later on. As soon as she closed her doors, I started looking, and luckily my search ended quickly. With this job and this new income, I will also be able to step up the amount of food we can grow here on the farm to donate to locals who need it. When one door closes, another opens. Who knows, maybe I'll even finish up my education and look at the farm in a different light as far as it's purpose. One thing I do know is that it does a lot of good for a person to pick blueberries, walk with dogs, and talk about life.
