🚨New Beer. Available Wed,11🚨Loon Flute Pale Ale - 4.7% ABV 52 IBU
Our friends and brewers Ophelia and Greg stopped by just to brew this special beer with TR. Inspired by Greg and Erica's time spent at Freewheel Brewing in California, it is a take on their favorite beer made by FW. A classic pale ale with big, bright flavors of fresh citrus, lemongrass, and grapefruit rind.
I met Greg in 2016, he was working at a cidery right down the road from the brewery where I worked at the time, Freewheel Brewing. His team always hung out at Freewheel, and we would always see each other at beer and social events. He became a great friend to me; and I always admired his work ethic, his charm, and his openness to discuss difficult topics in our lives.
Fast forward, I moved to Wisconsin, and Greg moved to Iowa where he took a job brewing at Big Grove Brewery.
Loon Flute is modeled after one of our favorite beers from Freewheel, Gone Fishing Pale Ale. Gone Fishing was special in its own right. It was brewed in honor of Malcom McGinnis, the founder of Freewheel who passed that year.
Loon Flute Pale Ale was born out of inspiration, friendship, and a lot of Cascade and Comet Hops. We used Two Track Malt out of North Dakota and hops grown locally in Wisconsin. It was named after our friend Craig, who plays a loon flute like nobody we've ever seen.
We are happy to welcome you into our friendship with this beer.
With love, Head Brewer Erica
