Black Betty had a child, 2 actually. The true origin of the name Black Betty may never be known. Legend spans centuries and continents. Notably woven throughout time is the reference to Whiskey, with one being that Black Betty was a whiskey bottle wrapped in leather. We think this is the true origin.

Meet the American Cherry Smoke Show — our founder’s spin on the classic Old Fashioned.

He’s always loved an Old Fashioned, but when his wife asked for a version with a little less sugar, he went back to the bar and got creative. The result? A whiskey-forward cocktail with marinated cherry syrup, orange essence, bitters, and a whole lot of smoke.

Because when you’re making an Old Fashioned… why not put on a show?

And for this one, we’re featuring the High Rye Bourbon Rum Cask Finish from our first Throttled In Bond bottling. Rich, bold, and built to stand up to the smoke.

🥃 American Cherry Smoke Show

• Orange peel — express the oils over the glass
• Bitters
• Marinated cherry syrup instead of simple syrup
• Muddle
• Add a large ice cube
• Add a cherry
• Pour in your whiskey
• Stir
• Hit it with the smoker and smoke generously to your preferred flavor

Then sit back, raise a glass, and enjoy the show.
