In addition to our Friday night live recording session, we’ll also be opening the tasting room for the season this Saturday, May 23, from noon to 5pm, the perfect addition to your Memorial Day weekend plans.

This year, the tasting room kitchen will be led by our new chef, Dora McFadden. Trained at the Culinary Institute of America and with years spent working shoulder to shoulder with chefs in Michelin-starred kitchens, Dora brings a wealth of experience, creativity, and deliciousness to all of our on-farm events this season.

Join us Saturday for wine and cider flights, lunch or early dinner, glass pours, and bottles to take home. Relax in the orchard or the barn, and settle into the long weekend with us on the farm!

We’ve got a really exciting event planned for this Friday, May 22nd. Join us in the barn for FLATLANDER, a live album recording event shaped around mud-season philosophy, Vermont contradictions, and live music magic.

Mike Calabrese (Lake Street Dive) and producer Neil Cleary will be joined by an all-star lineup of Vermont musicians, including Bob Wagner, Josh Weinstein, Russ Lawton, and Ray Paczkowski, for an unforgettable evening of original music.

The evening will run from 5:30–9:30 PM. Please note that this is a 16+ event. Due to the performance being recorded live, the format will be a bit more structured than our usual Rumney Sessions and Feast & Field gatherings to ensure the artists and producers can capture the best recording possible.

Come be part of a very special night in the barn. A limited number of sliding scale tickets are available through the link in our bio!

Spend your summer at the intersection of farm, kitchen, and winery. Fable Farm is hiring for two seasonal positions from May through September!

1. Culinary Apprentice - Live and work on the land in an immersive farm-to-table apprenticeship. You’ll work alongside CIA-graduate Dora McFadden, gaining hands-on experience in seasonal cooking, fermentation, and high-volume event service.
-The Exchange: Cabin lodging, weekly stipend, and farm provisions (veg, raw milk, cider/wine).

2. Tasting Room & Market Tender - Represent Fable Farm at Feast & Field (Thursdays) and the Norwich Farmers Market (Saturdays). We’re looking for a warm, engaging storyteller to pour samples, sell bottles, and share the spirit of our low-intervention wines and ciders.
-The Vibe: Must love fermentation, farming, and connecting with the community.

Whether you want to sharpen your skills in the kitchen or share the story of the land in the market, we’d love to hear from you.

To Apply: Email [email protected] or send us a DM for more details.

Spring is a time of renewal at Fable. After the long winter, we are deep in the rush of prepping the fields, planning the season’s vegetables, gathering our culinary team, and readying every corner of the farm for visitors to return.

When Fable Farm began in 2008 as a CSA, the vision was simple: to build something rooted in reciprocity between farm and community. That spirit still guides us. Today, Feast & Field is more than a summer gathering series; it is the economic backbone of our farm, sustaining this work while creating a place for community to gather, eat, and connect.

This year, we are introducing Community Supported Dining Shares to help seed the season ahead. By prepaying for your summer meals and drinks, you provide the stability we need to grow with intention. Whether you choose a Family, Date Night, or Solo share, your credit acts as a running tab for food, drinks at the bar, and take-home bottles all summer long.

For those farther away, our Wine & Vinegar Clubs offer another way to support the farm and stay connected to the living library of our cellar. Members receive quarterly shipments of our apple and grape wines, meads, and/or barrel-aged raw vinegars, along with early access to limited releases and year-round discounts.

Whether you join us on Thursday evenings or through the wine club, your participation helps keep this land, this work, and this vision in motion.

It’s very hard to believe this week is our final Rumney Session of the season! Since we began gathering in late October, it’s been such beautiful journey of music and a myriad of lovely visitors to the farm. We know it’s a commitment to make the trip out here all winter, which is why it feels so special when each person walks through the barn door. We feel the importance of these gatherings in every ounce of our beings. So, thank you for being part of it.

We are going out on a high note this Thursday with All She Wrote. Rooted in Bluegrass, Folk, and Old-Time, they’ve blossomed into a sound they playfully call “Earth Fairy Space Grass.” Annie McDougall, Dakota Rose, and Sammy Rose Blackmore weave together music that is both grounded and otherworldly.

Doors open at 5:30 PM. Music starts around 6:00 PM. This is our last week before we tuck in for mud season. If you haven’t made it out yet, come join us!

This Thursday, March 19th, marks our second-to-last Rumney Session before we shut down for the season. We’re still buzzing from a few weeks ago when Quincy Saul and the Social Research Band filled the space—especially when Quincy’s father, Sonny, sat in on the piano for an epic set.

We’re doing it all again this Thursday. Whether you’re coming for the improvised magic of their music or to find a quiet corner with a glass of our wine, we’re excited to celebrate a few more times this winter. We will be serving farm-fresh food along with local beers, and our own ciders and wines.

If you haven’t made it out to a Rumney Session yet, now is your time. Doors open at 5:30 PM. Come join us for a special one!

It feels good to shift gears from a long week of hard labor in the vineyard to a night of music in the barn. We’ve been heads down, pruning through the rows all week, and we are more than ready to hang with you all this Thursday!

Come join us as we host Zach Nugent for an intimate acoustic set. Best known for his work with the Jerry Garcia Band, Zach brings a soulful, improvisational style that fits perfectly in this setting—warm guitar work and songs that really breathe.

Doors 5:30 PM | Music 6:00 PM

Farm-fresh food and beverages will be flowing. Come hungry, come thirsty, and we’ll see you in the barn!

We’ve been lucky to have some serious talent in the barn these last few weeks, and this Thursday will be no different. We are very excited to welcome back the Quincy Saul Research & Development Band. They are a unique world-soul-jazz-funk continuum and always bring something new and fresh to our space.

We will open the barn doors at 5:30 PM for service, with music starting around 6:00 PM. Please come out to support your local farmers and musicians, and share some ever-important time with your local community.

See you Thursday!

We are beyond thrilled to welcome back the incredible crew from this Thursday, February 19th!

Rick, Heather, and the rest of the band bring an infectious energy wherever they go, and we can’t wait to have their spirit and musicianship back at the farm. Trust us—you do not want to miss this week!

Doors open at 5:30 PM, so come early to grab some farm-fresh food and drinks before the show. Tickets and event details are available at the link in our bio. We’ll see you Thursday!

This Thursday at our weekly Rumney Sessions, witness a first-of-its-kind musical collision as Vermont legends Bow Thayer and Eric George take the stage together for the very first time as Earthlings.

Bow Thayer has spent decades “kicking up a beautiful racket,” from his early days in Boston sharing stages with Pearl Jam to inventing his own hybrid instrument, the Bojotar. He meets his match in Eric George, a prolific songwriter and storyteller who masterfully blends Appalachian folk traditions with a modern, experimental edge.

Join us for farm-fresh food and community spirit in the intimate warmth of our 250-year-old barn. It is going to be a night to remember. Doors open at 5:30 PM with music starting around 6:00 PM. You can purchase tickets and view the full winter calendar at the link in our bio.

We always look forward to gathering with all of you in celebration of local music, community, and our lovingly farm-raised food.
