Baking experiment…yeasted corn “pudding” topped with mushrooms, kale and peppers in a rosemary balsamic vinaigrette and baked. Have no idea what to expect, except so happy to be using our delicious purple sweet corn and peppers plus a little random mozzarella I found tucked way back after a freezer clean out.

She was a he. Jackie Pepper announced himself with a few spurs budding on his ankles, plus the beginnings of a crow. Luckily, we were able to swap him out with our man AJ who hatched him for a new girl, who promptly escaped out of the coop and hid under some grass until we found her. Obviously, she will be called Ninja, chicken of the woods. Welcome to the family you sweet cautious girl!

August is jungle season! Here we’ve got some corn anc cowpeas which by the way is a great growing combo UNTIL the cowpeas go crazy! Phew! Looking forward to a great meal with them after I tame them!
