Nicholas Edward Williams is a multi-instrumentalist and storyteller rooted in folk traditions. His music feels intimate in the best way, songs that make you lean in a little closer and remember there’s beauty in simple things done (masterfully) well.

We’re really happy he’ll be joining us TONIGHT for Summer Solstice Celebration, and helping open the evening alongside Pretty Little Goat before Life Like Water!

🌿 Artist Spotlight: Pretty Little Goat

Pretty Little Goat is one of those bands that feels woven from these mountains. Appalachian roots, old songs, strings, harmonies, and that kind of effortless musicianship that feels both deeply grounded and uplifting.

There’s something really special about hearing music like this outdoors in summer. It reminds us that folk music is still a beautiful part of our fabric, passed hand to hand, voice to voice.

We’re excited to welcome Pretty Little Goat to open our Summer Solstice gathering this Friday before Life Like Water takes the stage.

Calling all artists, map makers, illustrators & visual storytellers ✨

For DIRTWIRE this July, we want to create something special.
A full, beautiful illustrated map of the Hawk.

Not just parking and paths… but something that captures the magic of the land. Stages, hidden corners, gathering spaces, camping, wandering, little moments of discovery.

One that lasts us a long time and captures our aesthetic. Think mythic, whimsical, earth-based, intricate, beautiful - like the Shire come to life.

We’d love to collaborate with an artist to help bring it to life!
It is a paid opportunity 💛 and we would love to work with and award an artist for their craft.

We’re excited to welcome Shylah Ray to Hawk & Hawthorne for the first time TOMORROW, June 10th!

If her voice sounds familiar… there’s a good chance you’ve already crossed paths with her music.

Shylah is a First Nations Algonquin singer-songwriter whose sound blends soul, R&B, blues, and gospel influences into something that feels both timeless and fresh. A self-taught musician, mother, and longtime performer, she’s built her path independently and become known for songs that are heartfelt, powerful, and deeply human.

This is one of the songs that introduced so many people to her music.

If you wanted to catch her at Free the Music but weren't able to, this is your chance!

This July 17 + 18 we gather beneath sunset skies and fireflies. We’ll breathe clean mountain air, drink sweet spring water and gather around the fire on Ritual Hill for a beautiful weekend of music, connection and life on the land at The Hawk & Hawthorne.

A full weekend experience featuring two unique Dirtwire sets across the weekend, a late-night DJ set with David Satori, workshops, open village time, camping and a growing circle of artists, facilitators and friends.

With immersive stage production and Funktion One sound in the evenings -- and movement, land-based experiences, conversations and time to connect in all the natural magic that happens between the scheduled moments.

This one feels extra special.
