Marcus and I enjoyed a nice ride(and canter) in the orchard this afternoon. The colors are beautiful even if it was lightly raining while we rode🍂🍁🍂

HS Wilhelm and I attended another great clinic at Southlands Foundation in Rhinebeck, NY. Here are a few clips from todays ride 🐴🩵
Thank you Tine Zinglersen for organizing these wonderful clinics with Christophe Theallet. And to Linzy Closs for all the video footage! 😊🐴

One day while riding and working at Daniel Pevsner yard in the Uk, I was given this letter of reference. I did not ask for it so I was completely surprised when none other than Charles Harris handed this to me. He was a true horseman and not many were ever up to his standard! His dedication to teaching and riding was truly inspirational. Every weekend he would travel to our yard to watch us ride and teach lessons. One day when he came he said "Fetch me a horse, I am going to have you give me a lunge lesson" He was in his 80's at the time and I had never seen him actually ride a horse all the times he had visited us. He wanted to demonstrate to me the exercises I was to use to teach others on the lunge. He rode and did everything without stirrups and reins. Then I was to get on and he would lunge me doing the same exercises!
I am so grateful to have had this amazing opportunity and equally impressed by this letter of reference 🐴💜

Sometimes the best lessons are working on simple basics. A driving horse needs to have plenty of patience and here Hobie is working on just standing at halt while other things go on around him. 🐴🧡
