A little level up in our eggs, both in color and our packaging! The copper maran ladies have started laying, and my olive 🫒 girls are laying some full size eggs! Shout out to Mama’s Hen House for both the hook up on the olive egger and maran ladies, and for my pretty new stickers!

Chicken project update! 🐔

The flock officially got an upgrade today.

I expanded the setup by adding a second covered run and another coop, giving me separate areas for breeding groups, growing out pullets, and keeping the peace between roosters. Everything is predator-resistant, fully covered, and designed to keep the birds comfortable through Missouri weather.

Still a few finishing touches left—I’m adding boards around the bottoms, cleaning up the runs, and making a few more improvements—but it’s coming together exactly how I envisioned.

It’s been fun building this a piece at a time instead of buying a turnkey setup. Now I have room to continue working with my Olive Eggers, Marans, Ameraucanas, and future hatching projects.

The tiny raptors approve. 🦖🥚

(Yes… chicken math won again.) 😆

The ladies understood the assignment. 😂🥚

The butt nugget factory has been working overtime! If you’ve been waiting on fresh eggs, now’s your chance. Our spoiled girls are keeping us stocked!

The confidence: 10/10.
The crow: still buffering. 🐓😂❤️

🥚✨ Fresh from the coop this morning! Nothing beats a rainbow of farm-fresh eggs and the hens that keep the basket full. Every color tells a little story from our flock. 🐓💚

🐥 Homestead life is exhausting… especially when you’ve spent all morning being adorable. ❤️

The babies found the perfect spot for an afternoon nap while the grass grows and the chores wait. 🌱☀️

🐓🐓 Boys being boys.

These two young roosters have started testing each other and figuring out where they fit in the flock. No real fighting—just a little chest puffing, sparring, and attitude as they work out the pecking order.

It’s one of those reminders that chickens have their own social rules, and every flock eventually has to sort them out. For now, it’s mostly feathers, posturing, and trying to look tougher than they really are. 😂
