Sourdough and flowers are stocked in the farmstand. I've already received positive feedback on the addition of Jalapeño Cheddar bread. If there is a certain flavor of bread, focaccia, scones, or cookies, please let me know. I love to experiment.

This weekend's experiment was Cheddar bread and that may be a keeper.

I'm also going to work on adding a pre-order option at shebaacres.com.

The farmstand will not be open until Noon today! Sorry for the delay this morning. Dough rise took a little longer, which delayed baking. The loaves are still cooling but I can share pics and our new flavor this week. The Flower U-Pick Field will open at 10. I have updated the event to be all day today and tomorrow. It is going to be self-serve this weekend to give everyone more flexibility with their schedules and mother nature's rain schedule.

A few weeks ago when I was printing out the labels for my baked goods, I realized common chocolate chips you buy from the grocery store contain soy (and quite a bit of other stuff). I have a soy sensitivity and had been eating A LOT of chocolate chips trying to perfect my chocolate chip cookie and scone recipes. 🤦🏼‍♀️

After a lot of research and experimenting, I have settled on Pascha Chocolate Chips. They are organic and have minimal ingredients. And they still taste good.

I try as much as possible to farm and bake as organically and minimally invasive as possible. Is everything organic, no, but I continue to look for cleaner more organic options that are still affordable. Some items we have completely shifted to are fertilizing with only fish guts and seaweed. The flour I use is minimally processed organic flour from Sunrise Flour Mill. Compost here at Sheba Acres is provided by our goats and chickens.

With all that said, sorry for the long post, tomorrow we will have freshly baked items in the farmstand at 9AM. Flower U-Pick Saturday & Sunday.

It is about time I introduce the newest addition to our family. Meet Zero. We rescued him a few weeks ago. He came from a pretty rough situation but that is not new for this household. He is finally used to grass, going potty outside, and a crate that he now volunteers to nap in. We are still working on his separation anxiety but we have even made strides with that. He is the sweetest boy.

It was obvious to us that Dori was struggling without Honey. I'm not sure Michael and I were ready for another dog, but we knew she needed it. Since the first time they met, they got along great. Dori is so much happier since we adopted Zero and so are we.

This past weekend we took an overnight trip to Madison, WI for our anniversary. It is the first overnight trip we have done in a long time. It is not easy to leave the farm and over 60 animals but thankfully we had help to take care of the animals.

I realize now that I did not take many pictures on our trip but I'm happy that I was present. The capital building is beautiful, loved our hotel (old converted into lofts building), Olbrich Botanical Gardens were lovely and the food was good but coffee was great. We drank a lot of coffee from a few different cafés. University of Wisconsin is huge. Lastly, I clearly have a love of bricks. All in all, it was a good trip.

Tomorrow is our 6th wedding anniversary. In celebration of it, starting at 3PM today, we will have our normal mixed bouquets but also straight bunches of Lisianthus. Lisianthus are about as romantic of a flower you can get and their vase life is amazing.

Sourdough items will be in the stand by 8AM tomorrow.
