All right, guys, moving on…. because after the kind of day I had, I deserved steak tips, peace and absolutely no more nonsense. 😂 My brain worked overtime today. I researched, wrote, dug through information, put a few things into perspective for people and made exactly zero apologies for any of it. By the time I was finished, I needed to reward myself with something guaranteed to make me happy, so I stopped at George Calef Fine Foods, LLC. in Barrington for my longtime favorite: the Sweet Thai Chili steak tips.
These are not just steak tips. These are therapy in a marinade. They cook up beautifully, the outside caramelizes into that sticky, sweet, slightly spicy perfection, and the flavor gets into every bite. I have been a huge fan of them for years, and they are still the best steak tips I buy. Some people cope with a bubble bath. I throw marinated beef into a hot pan and wait for the edges to get deliciously charred. We all have our methods.
George Calef’s is a specialty meat market and grocery store located at 495 Calef Highway, Route 125, in Barrington. They have a full butcher shop along with deli items, sandwiches and plenty of other temptations, but these steak tips are the reason I keep returning. And yes, the raspberry oatmeal bars from Chichester Market are waiting for dessert. I believe in balance: handle the hard day, say what needs to be said, eat the steak tips and finish with a raspberry bar. Like a well trained dog, I respond extremely well to food based rewards. 😂
