🍁 Winter’s getting closer every day—and it’s full steam ahead at the farm! 🌲🪵

We’re putting away the last 3.5 cords of firewood, bringing this year’s grand total to 17 cords. 💪🔥 That should keep us busy—and warm—for a while!

Next on the project list: finishing up the frost-free hydrant to the sugarhouse before the ground freezes. And somehow, in between all of that, the mowing continues! 🚜

🌲 On the Christmas tree side of things, the 2026 crop has officially been sheared. Now it’s time to move on to the next plots—trees that are looking more like our 2028 crop. It’s pretty incredible how many years of planning and work go into growing a Christmas tree before it ever makes its way into someone’s home.

Gosh. I can’t say enough wonderful things about the Kingdom Corn Maze. Farming in Vermont is hard. Let me tell you… farmers have grit, creativity and determination and this lovely farm in Sutton has it all.

We’ve never been before, but this certainly will not be our last time. It was so wonderfully kid-oriented and farm themed every step of the way. The kids had an absolutely wonderful time and I loved to see their excitement as they ran to each attraction.

The last two years have been filled full of real estate and teaching for me - I haven’t had a lot of time at the farm. This was a good reminder that some coordination and creativity go a long way. I look forward to getting back into it at some point. I suppose everything has a season. ❤️
