This beautiful girl is looking for her new farm!

Maples mini me! Rarity is out of one of my favorite litters to date. Maples babies have all shown the best dispositions from day 1. Rarity, like her littermates and mom, is calm and sweet. She a tri colored belted gilt with a 6/7 teatline, level back and well balanced frame. Like her mama, she’s bringing with her flash and a demeanor that will be a great addition to any farm!

I added a picture of Maple to the end. They’re like copy and paste. One black ear and all!

Whew! The humidity today is something else. All the piggies are doing their best to stay cool. Even the honorary piggy.

Who would like to put bets on whether or not he squeezes through?!

Boop woke up and decided she would do her absolute best to drive the boys crazy today. She’s cycling and made a B-line for them as soon as we shifted the girls out to the big pasture. But, with the help of a couple well placed gates, she’s now been moved back to solitary with Maple for the next few days. No gen pop for these two.

Sometimes {many times} owning a farm means making difficult choices. One of the most difficult choices is deciding which of your favorite pigs, because they’re all favorites, stays or goes. Boop checks all the boxes to stay- except one. She’s a carbon copy of her mom Churro. That’s it. But on a small farm, it makes a difference and with that we’ve decided to make her available to another farm.
She has a perfect 7/7 teatline, she farrowed well and was an excellent mom to her first litter of 6 this past spring and she’s gentle with people big and small.

Mr. Felix will be heading home to his new farm in just a little bit, but before he goes I have to show you just how handsome he is again!
Today he weighed in at 70lbs at 4 months old with an AGD of .6lb/day. He’s well on his way to 200lbs by 12 months! I can’t wait to see how he grows out at his new farm and all his future beautiful babies! 😍

Whakanui x Tapeka babies coming this fall!

Our Whakanui boar Biggie seems to have successfully bred our Tapeka sow Churro on his maiden voyage! We’re very excited for this pairing and these babies. Biggie comes from particularly impressive genetics out of Hopewell Heritage Farm and we’re excited to see him bring his length and size to both future babies and our pork program.
