Patches on a handful of recips and fall cows. A little chilly with a feels like temp of 9 degrees. Nicer weather coming in Monday Tuesday so hopefully good heat, get a few cows bred and some embryos the following week.

Went out later this afternoon to put CIDR’s in some Recips along with a few other cows. Bringing them found the best cow on the place in a standing heat. Decided to put CIDR’s in everyone scheduled and decided to go to the tank and pull out a straw of Wanamara Dynamite, lead Herd Sire for the Wanamara Program in Australia. Have limited semen on this great bull available. Once it’s gone, it’s gone.

Strong north winds dropping temperature to 30 and upper teens come morning. Glad this little guy came yesterday and found a place to hide and get out of the wind.

Been awhile since posting, rather busy. Cows and calves have been worked and moved to winter pasture.

Born Friday, it’ll be interesting to watch this guy grow through the winter. Out of two Black Hided Red Carrier parents. Didn’t get Color coat DNA on dam but not proven. Dam was one of our best cows that came out of the Ankeny Program that was unfortunately lost to an accident.
