Look at this handsome 6-month-old!! Boy, has he gotten big…tipping the scales at 80 pounds and still parks his b***y in my lap. We make it work. 😂 He’s about to enter adolescence, and with that comes all that big puppy energy and boundary testing. Recently, he’s started trying to barge past me when I open doors or gates. One evening, he managed to get past me right as I was trying to separate the goats from the cows for feeding. Just when I was feeling frustrated that he almost knocked me over, a coyote started howling in the pasture next to us. Legend went from happy pup to fierce protector in an instant. He ran in front of the goats and let out his best big boy bark to tell that coyote he wasn’t welcome here. He’s just a baby, but I already know he’s going to grow into the best guardian, and we’ll keep practicing gate manners in the meantime.
Legend is a LOVER, and we all proudly wear his white fluff on our clothes. I know you won’t believe me, but I think he’s also the only Pyr to love fetch. It’s his favorite game to play. He handles a crate, a kennel, and car rides like a champ as long as you convince him that it’s going to be a good time. Oh, and did I mention this big guy isn’t the least bit phased by thunderstorms? He thinks they either make excellent background noise for sleeping or is begging me to be out in them, romping and playing. He gives me a solid Pyr side-eye when I explain the dangers of lightning. He’s the best boy, and we love him so. ♥️
