U.S. CATTLE REPORT 🥩📈 Retail Lean Ground Beef Tops $8 for First Time Ever 🔥
Retail lean ground beef prices began at $6.851/lb in July 2023 and remained relatively stable through the end of the year, finishing December 2023 at $6.674.
The market began to trend higher in January 2024 at $6.778 and continued its ascent throughout the year. By December 2024, prices reached $7.124. The upward trend persisted into 2025, starting January at $7.110 and rising steadily each month.
The rally culminated in July 2025, when prices hit $8.035/lb—crossing the $8 mark for the first time in history and setting a new all-time high.
